MALAM SAMA OPAH Beginner Guide: First Steps and the Goal of a Round

Last updated:

What to do when you first join MALAM SAMA OPAH: find your way around the night-time kampung lobby, claim rewards, roll a class, board the bus, and work toward the goal the game spells out in-house — find 5 keys and a code, then escape Opah's house (objective observed on HARD).

Quick answer

When you first join MALAM SAMA OPAH you start in a night-time kampung lobby: follow the arrow under the GET ON THE BUS banner to a marked bus stop — BUS 1, BUS 2 or BUS 3 — and reaching it puts you into a round. A round's goal is spelled out inside Opah's house: find 5 keys and a code, then escape before Opah catches you.

  • Join a round by walking to a bus stop marked BUS 1, BUS 2 or BUS 3.
  • The in-house objective panel reads: 'OBJECTIVE: Find 5 keys and a code, then escape Opah's house.'
  • You get two hearts per round — get out before Opah finds you.

Your first minutes: the kampung lobby

A session opens at night in a kampung (village-style) lobby under a big GET ON THE BUS banner that tells you exactly what to do: "Follow the arrow to the bus!" The arrow leads past marked bus stops — BUS 1, BUS 2 and BUS 3 — where other players' avatars gather, and stepping up to one of them is how you join a round. Everything before that point is preparation, and the lobby gives you the tools for it.

The MALAM SAMA OPAH night lobby: a GET ON THE BUS banner with an orange arrow pointing to a bus, a 100 Duit balance with a plus icon, SHOP, CLASS and ITEMS buttons on the left, DAILY, PROFILE, +150 and SETTINGS buttons on the right, and a PARTY button at the bottom

Your Duit balance, the game's currency, is shown on the lobby screen with a + icon beside it. On the left side you'll find SHOP, CLASS, ITEMS and GIFT (GIFT runs on a timer); on the right side sit DAILY, PROFILE, a +150 button and SETTINGS, with a PARTY button along the bottom. Two of these matter most on day one:

  • DAILY hands out free rewards. In one captured session, claiming the daily reward plus a "Play 5 minute" reward added 20 coins and spins to the account.
  • CLASS spends those spins. Each spin rolls a class for your character — observed rolls produced common classes such as Upin — and you can unlock additional class slots beyond your first (a second slot was observed). Since the spins come from rewards, the natural order is claim first, spin second. The MALAM SAMA OPAH classes guide goes deeper on what rolls can give you.

The game also has redeemable codes: SETTINGS is one name that has appeared. The current code list and their rewards live on the MALAM SAMA OPAH codes page.

The goal of a round, spelled out

The game states its goal twice, so you can't miss it. At the start of a round, an intro title card puts it in plain words: "Find the keys and the door code. Get out before Opah finds you." Once you are inside Opah's house, the objective panel repeats it as a checklist — "OBJECTIVE: Find 5 keys and a code, then escape Opah's house" — alongside a difficulty tag (it read HARD in the session described here) and your life counter, shown as two heart icons.

On the HARD run described here, the round came down to three things: collect five keys, find the door code, and reach the exit — the game's own title card puts it as 'Get out before Opah finds you.' If you want the full door-to-door route, the MALAM SAMA OPAH escape guide covers it step by step.

Searching Opah's house

Keys have been found inside furniture: cabinets and drawers open with an open/close hand interaction. Cabinets and drawers open with an open/close hand interaction, so the search is hands-on: work through the drawers room by room. In the described session, a large yellow key was sitting in a small drawer. Picking a key up brings up a prompt like "HOLDING Yellow Key - Tap Drop to put it down" with a DROP button, and the key moves into one of your hotbar slots — you carry it with you rather than the game banking it for you.

The exit door is where the objective comes together. It displays five colored padlocks — red, blue, green, yellow, purple — plus a separate numeric CODE keypad, which lines up exactly with the five keys and the code the objective asks you to collect.

The house itself doubles as your map while you search. The interior has green weathered wooden walls and red carpet corridors, a bedroom with white metal bed frames, and a dining room with a red-checkered tablecloth. Using those rooms as landmarks makes it easier to track which drawers you have already opened — and to find your way back to the exit. The Opah house guide breaks the building down further.

Grab flip flops when you spot them. They sit on the floor looking like decoration, but picking one up pops a "Found a flip flop!" toast and adds +2 next to your coin counter — small, free Duit for the effort of walking around. The MALAM SAMA OPAH Duit guide collects more ways to build your balance.

Hearts, Opah and what happens at zero

You start a round with two hearts. In the described session the counter fell from two hearts to one during a chase, consistent with losing a life on being caught. When both are gone, a REVIVE? dialog appears with an 8-second countdown. It offers a revive for 19 Robux or a NO button, and its small print explains the deal: "Come back with 1 life in the safe zone." VIP owners also see the note "VIP: +1 LIFE EVERY ROUND". If you let the countdown run out, you are out of lives, a SPECTATING label appears over your view, and you watch the remaining players finish the round.

If staying alive is the hard part, the how to survive Opah guide focuses on exactly that problem.

The buttons on your in-house HUD

Three controls sit alongside the objective panel and your hearts:

  • SPRINT — on the right side of the HUD, for extra speed when a search turns into a chase.
  • SHOVE OTHERS — also on the right, shown with a lock icon.
  • JUMPSCARE — the green button in the top-right corner costs 35 Duit per press; a "DUITMINE -35" badge appears on screen when it is used.

Your first session, in order

Put together, the loop looks like this:

Checklist

  • Claim your DAILY rewards

In the lobby; one observed claim of the daily plus a 'Play 5 minute' reward added 20 coins and spins.

  • Roll a class in the CLASS menu

Spins produce a class such as the common Upin, and further class slots can be unlocked.

  • Board at BUS 1, BUS 2 or BUS 3

Follow the GET ON THE BUS arrow; reaching a bus stop joins you into the round.

  • Search drawers and cabinets for the five keys

They open with the open/close interaction; a collected key lands in a hotbar slot.

  • Find the door code

The objective needs a code as well as five keys; the exit door has the numeric CODE keypad.

  • Escape before Opah finds you

Two hearts are the life counter; when they ran out in the described session, a REVIVE? dialog offered a 19 Robux revival — or SPECTATING if the countdown ran out.

That is the whole first session: claim, spin, board, search, escape. After your first successful getaway, the same loop repeats with better preparation — more spins from daily rewards, another unlocked class slot, and any flip flops you spot along the way (each observed pickup added +2).
